COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUND

Back in January, Tam Nguyen, founder of the Community Development Fund, and I launched the Culinary Life Skills (CLS) program in Quang Tri Province, Vietnam and it’s already making a real impact by teaching them how to shop, garden and cook.

This hands-on program is designed for hearing-disabled and disadvantaged youth aged 10–14. Through weekly classes, students learn practical cooking techniques, kitchen safety, nutrition, and even how to grow their own herbs and vegetables.

But this program is about more than just food. As I always say we’re not just teaching skills — we’re helping students thrive

CLS empowers young people to care for themselves and their families, while building autonomy, self-confidence, and life skills.

I’m very proud to have started this journey and deeply grateful for everyone who supports it.
